Priceless Fun!

Throughout the summer we have been park hunting ( I am new in the area) and we found an excellent and toddler freindly water park right here locally! Where have we been this whole time?! Probably strolling the kids around in our neighborhood on a stroller we don't have anymore! I love how diverse and CLEAN this park is and most importantly, it's FREE! What I also like about this local water park is that it's Eco-friendly and it seems to have sensory detectors because the water will turn off when no one is around. When the water is on, it's gushing and squirting from all ends, the kids go nuts! What a fun place! I ask my daughter " do you want to go to the beach or the water park"? She says with big goggling eyes, " I WANT TO GO THE WATER POOK"!!

Last days of summer

Its official, mornings are cold again. Brrr. I really hate this. I hate that the the warm weather is slowly coming to an end. The high degree weather is still around during the day, but now you can now smell the cold crisp of Fall in the mornings. The Fall in Michigan is really a beautiful season, I think the worst we have to face are the brutal cold winters, and thanks to the Lake effect from the Great Lakes, it gets COLD. Its acutally quite depressing. I know deep in my heart, I was not born to tolerate such weather.
My parents came down to visit me a couple of days ago. They love spending time with the kiddos. We went out to eat at a Mexican restaurant and later to a small man made lake. It was a very good time. The lake has a  whole area dedicated for handicapped children, which I thought was really great. They had a really excellent set up for them. Overall, it's a very cute park but I probably won't return. $10.00 for entry fee for a small lake...eh,  I would rather go to a  real beach for half the price! Currently, its 11:57 PM. I am here typing this on my bed and my little Chunk ( 11 months) is sitting next to me on the bed watching me type. He is up for the night. Oh Joy! What time shall i expect him to be tired again.

Viva Las Vegas!

My husband and I had the pleasure to visit Las Vegas, Nevada last week. What a beautiful city and state! I really loved the atmosphere and beleive it or not, I really loved the weather. The city has very low humidity, this is something that Michigan has an unbearable & significant amount of (thanks to the Great Lakes). The view was something really new and different for me, being it was my first time out west, I really appreciated the red rocky landscape.   Overall, it was a great and memorable experience and I hope to return again next year. A few shots that I would like to share with you all from the strip in Vegas.

Just Beachin' it

I must confess, I had the most wonderful time with my family this weekend. I am so happy and thankful my husband has been so involved this summer.  I can't begin to tell you how much FUN we are having as a family. We live fairly close to Lake Michigan, and if your from the Mid-West, you know when the Sun comes in season we are ALL out at the Great Lakes. We usually like to go to the beach about an hour before sun sets. That is when the weather has cooled off and the sky  looks extraordinary. Depending on what lake you go to, the Great Lakes have really beautiful and clean beaches. What admire most about going to beach is watching my children play. I love how Lexi splashes in the water with so much joy and excitement as she tumbles in the waves. My little Gordito ( Chunk) is a little timid at the beach at first, but he calmly warms his way to the shore and  loves to tap the water. My husband stands in the water and goes back and forth between the two of them. He really does well with our children, very engaging and loving. Than there is me with the camera. Almost every moment is captured with a snap. What I love the best about ending a perfect day at the beach is going out to eat ( Go Figure). This weekend was at Applebee's. I don't think it has hit me yet that I will be leaving them for a whole week. I am going to miss them.... a lot!

Hot Weather & Good Food

Cafe around the corner

The shop around the corner

This week the weather has been ultra high with the heat index reaching over 109 degrees. I know this type of weather is a typical day out West, but for us, it's scorching HOT! In these photos, we were getting take-out at a Dominican cafe. We LOVE Dominican food, or Caribbean meals for that matter. My husband's step father growing up was a Dominican chef so every now and then my Cuban husband will dig something out of the mix from the Dominican burner. The Dominican cafe we go to is THE BOMB. It's located in the Hispanic district of town. They often run out of food when we try to order. They call the woman who cooks and owns the restaurant La Doctora. Oh, and trust me, you know when she is not cooking because the food does not taste the same. She's got those magic cooking hands.
Well, Anywho,we went to the cafe the other day. It was too hot to cook at home. In these photos, we are waiting for our take out while, my husband gives our son a cold water bottle. This is the first time we ever see him drink from a straw. P.S. Yes, we know that is a large baby! LOL!  I hope everyone is enjoying their summer!

Owning Sunday:

My family

Hello Summer. The first day of summer was last week, but we wouldn't know because the warm weather has yet to arrive in the Midwest. We haven't been close to mild. Lots of rainy and gloomy days. Not sure why that is, but at least Sunday was a beautiful day at the Lake, and I was there with the people I love the most. I am sure by the end of the summer both of my babies will be a lot bigger and I am pretty sure Adrian will be waking by then, maybe even running.  I wish they could stay babies forever,  but I know they must grow up.  This past Sunday was just one of those days where everything that day was unplanned and yet ended so perfect. It's one of those days you will look back and remember how wonderful it was. As you can see, my daughter is in her summer dress and we didn't have her in a swimsuit because the water has not warmed up, but of course that didn't stop her. She warmed her way in the lake. After the beach, we ate at an awesome Pizza Joint in the area. Such a good time. We didn't plan to go to the Beach, but we did and we loved it so much. My husband and I decided that every Sunday will be the day we will go to the beach this summer. We just hope the weather shows up with us. Happy Monday all.
